007 First Light Gets Massive Gameplay Deep Dive, Hits Xbox In March 2026
Revealed at the PlayStation State of Play event
It was back in June that we finally got our first look at the next James Bond game, 007 First Light, and it’s just received a special PlayStation State of Play showcase today featuring 30 minutes of brand-new footage.
As you’d expect from IO Interactive, there’s a very Hitman feel to 007 First Light based on what we’re seeing so far, but it clearly features plenty of unique aspects as well, with much more of an action-adventure flavour than just pure stealth.
The visuals are definitely a noticeable step up from the Hitman games too, with the driving sections in particular seeming very impressive, although the performance seems to be (very) wobbly at times in this early glimpse.
Anyway, you can start pre-ordering 007 First Light today for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with prices ranging from $69.99 for the standard edition to $299.99 for the Collector’s Edition, and it’ll be coming out on March 27th, 2026. Notably, anyone who pre-orders the standard edition on the Xbox Store will not only get a free Deluxe upgrade featuring various in-game cosmetics, but will also get early access beginning on March 26th.
We’ll leave you with more details on the game below, along with some screenshots from the video.
“Discover a new standalone, re-imagined James Bond origin story, and the events that lead an audacious young hero to become the best MI6 agent. Embark on missions in breathtaking locations, drive iconic vehicles, and dive into a cinematic adventure in pursuit of a rogue agent who’s always one step ahead.”
