2024 NCAA Tournament projections: Big 12 leads the way with 10 teams represented

Following a thrilling weekend of college hoops, which included plenty of upsets, FOX Sports bracket forecaster Mike DeCourcy released his updated NCAA Tournament projections. 

The No. 1 seeds in DeCourcy’s latest projections remain unchanged, with UConn (East), Houston (South), Purdue (Midwest) and North Carolina (West) at the top.

Tennessee, Marquette and Arizona remain on the 2-line and are now joined by Kansas. The Jayhawks added an impressive victory over Houston this past weekend, before falling in overtime to in-state rival Kansas State on Monday.

Baylor, Wisconsin, Alabama and Illinois make up the No. 3 seeds in DeCourcy’s projections, while Duke, Auburn, Creighton and Iowa State are listed as No. 4 seeds.

As for teams on the bubble, DeCourcy has Butler, Washington State, Cincinnati and Providence as his last four teams in the tournament. Villanova, Kansas State , Memphis and Florida are the first four teams out, while Gonzaga, Wake Forest, Nevada and Colorado are the next four out.

The Big 12 has the most representatives in DeCourcy’s compilation with 10 teams, with the SEC second at eight teams. The Big East has seven teams, while the Big Ten has six. The Mountain West has five teams in DeCourcy’s latest projections, while the ACC has four teams and the Pac-12 has three teams represented.
