What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

The people that raised me and were around when I was a little boy have always said that ever since I was 2 I’ve been attached to football, so it’s a love that I was born with. Also with growing up watching guys like Darrelle Revis and Brian Dawkins it pushed my passion even further in the sport.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I would have to say winning a Division Three National Championship my freshman year at UMHB. Being able to come back to East Texas and play at a school that a a lot of my family members graduated from. Also being a two year starting quarterback at my high school, which is one of the biggest accomplishments in my hometown.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

Being available at all times, because availability is the best ability. Also to just be the best version of myself, because with me doing that I believe that I can accomplish anything at the next level.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would love to hang out with Brian Dawkins. He’s someone I truly admire in this game because of his ability to go from being a God fearing man to striking fear into another man. The one question I would ask him is how does he transition from Brian Dawkins into Wolverine.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My dad inspires me the most because of the many things he’s taught/preached to me. Things that have made me a better football player and a man; things that I carry and use on and off the field.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

I’m truly not biased when it comes to schemes because I feel as if to be a great and true football player you should be able to play/adapt in any scheme which is why I’m very confident in my game, whether it’s man or zone, I feel as I can make many plays in both.

What should we know about Trashawn Adams the person?

I am a true warrior, someone that loves the process more than the prize. Someone that loves the grind and wants to do what it takes to be the best, because everyone isn’t going to do what it requires.

What stands out about your film the most?

That I’m very versatile, I have and can play the 1 high safety position, nickel, and even corner. My aggression and ability to tackle is also something that is very loud and big in my game, along with my ability to always be around the ball. It also shows that I’m a game changer on special teams, whether it’s returning punts or even running down and making plays at gunner.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle all my challenges by giving it all to God and prayer. Everything I do and can do is because of him.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a day one leader, someone who leads by example and vocally. A hard worker, someone who’s going to be the first one in and the last to leave whether it’s the weight room, film room, or practice field. As well as someone who’s truly loves the game of football and is willing to do whatever it takes to see the team succeed/win.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

The aggression part of it, the free will to punish and physically demoralize a team. As well as the bonds and life long friendships it creates.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I would say Jahiem Mullen, a senior safety out of SFA. His ability to step up in the box and tackle as well as being a ball hawk at 215lbs is very impressive, showed many glimpses of versatility and play making ability. Led our conference with 4 INT’s this year and didn’t get any recognition, really surprised me.
