What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I fell in love with the game at a young age. I love the competition, teamwork, and challenges it brings. The brotherhood felt right, and I knew football was something I wanted to commit to.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
My favorite moments are definitely winning the PAC Championship last year, and the countless memories I’ve made with my Washington & Jefferson teammates and coaches.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad. He inspires me because he pushes me to be better everyday and is always looking out for my best interests.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
I’m looking forward to this season; getting back into the playoffs and finishing what we couldn’t get done last year.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
I would choose to hang out with Randy Moss because he’s one of the most electrifying wide receivers to ever play the game, and his natural talent and confidence made him stand out every time he stepped on the field. I’d want to hear firsthand about his mindset, what drove him, and how he approached big moments. Plus, just being around someone with that much swagger and football knowledge would be unforgettable.
What are your favorite things about playing football at Washington & Jefferson?
My favorite part is the lifelong relationships that I have made with my teammates and coaches. Those memories are priceless.
What should we know about Jacob Macosko the person?
I am a hard worker who is extremely competitive and wants to succeed in all I do.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
My favorite scheme is the Spread offense because I like creating big plays and mismatches. The Spread offense truly highlights my best talents.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I try to block out negativity and focus on the positives and acquire the outcome I desire.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A team would get someone who is hungry and willing to do whatever it takes to win.
What stands out about your film the most?
What stands out in my film are the big plays, my deep ball speed, acrobatic ability, and sure handed catches.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
The most underrated player is Aidan Thomas. He’s been underrated because he played in the shadow of Dawson Dietz, our defensive All-American, but I know Aidan is going to have a monster season for us this year.
