Summary: Senior who starts at left tackle. Average run blocker, average in pass protection. Displays a quick first step and ability to fire forward in the run game. Very good when he can take off from his stance and directly complete his assignment as a run blocker.
Hand placement in the run game is streaky; good when he can latch on, finishes well. Not a very good mover in space as a puller or out on screens; he struggles to find color to block in the open field. Will give up inside leverage at times in both phases. In pass protection, he is average.
Can be hard to get around just due to his mass. Is good when he can latch on, strike with his hands properly, and lock down any potential rushers who come his way. Can spin the barrel and keep plays in front of him. Key issue is very susceptible to counter moves and misdirection. Does not handle twists/stunts properly and is slow to redirect.
Gets swimmed a bit too easily and isnât as effective against some of the better pass rushers. Lateral set is decent but could see him struggling against wide edge rushers. Needs to improve as a pass protector to be a high pick in the pros or kick inside at guard.
