Finding the best jeans is a shopping quest we all seem to be on. If you’re following this season’s denim trends, then you may want to snag yourself a pair of wide-leg jeans which are especially popular this year, or a barrel-leg style which is also having a major moment. For those who like a more tailored look, universally flattering high-rise straight legs remain wardrobe staples, giving you that clean, polished line that’s versatile with ankle boots or loafers. And let’s not forget skinny jeans—they might not be as front and center, but they’re still unbeatable when it comes to pairing with oversized sweaters and tall boots. In terms of color, this time of year means swathing ourselves in deeper tones, inkier dark washes, and black jeans are in abundance.
Our team—including Glamour editors, fashion insiders, Gen Z’ers, and stylish women in their 40s and 50s with varying body types—tried everything from timeless Levi’s to flared bottoms. We took into account comfort, durability, and price before bringing you these list of our all-time favorite jeans.

Hint Of Blu Mighty High Waist Wide Leg Jeans
If you’re unsure about diving into the large cuff trend, Melissa San Vicente, a creative director and consultant at LOL MEL, suggests this pair as the perfect entry point. “The stretch on these is what keeps me coming back for more,” she says. With a high-rise fit and relaxed wide leg that’s consistent from thigh to hem, they offer both comfort and style. “I haven’t had a chance to get them hemmed yet, so I’ve been pairing them with a pointed heel for that elevated, quiet luxury look.”
For a more casual, street-style vibe, she cuffs the bottoms and throws on a colorful pair of baby blue Gazelles. “The fit is true to size, stretches throughout the day without feeling saggy, and elongates the legs with the dark wash that slightly fades at the top,” she adds.

Abercrombie Curve Love Mid Rise Slouchy Jean
I cannot overstate this enough: Curve jeans are absolute heaven for the thighs. My number one pain point with jeans is always the thigh area fitting a little too snugly when the waist fits just right. But my fuller-thigh prayers have finally been answered. Why, oh why did I wait so long to join the curve jean club? I also opted for a short length, which is perfect with flats. While these are considered slouchy, I feel they fit more like a roomier straight leg with what I consider the ultimate nonchalance—a.k.a. a slight slouch in the thigh area—a dream.

Free People We The Free Good Luck Mid-Rise Barrel Jeans
For a laid-back, baggy silhouette with a touch of edge, Malia Griggs, Glamour commerce editor, swears by this Free People pair. “My mid-20s barista was wearing these, and I was immediately drawn to their baggy shape, tapered ankle, and mid-rise—qualities missing from my millennial wardrobe,” she says. “My friends tease me and call this my Gen-Z look, but these pants are so soft and comfortable, even around the waist, as if I’ve owned them for years.” With artfully distressed rips around the knees and a range of shades and inseams available, these jeans are perfect for everything from lounging at home to coffee runs.

For a jean that’s both flattering and fun, the kick crop is a winner. Content creator Jen Dang swears by its figure-hugging fit and playful flare. “It’s fitted at the waist and thighs, which gives it a flattering silhouette, but the subtle flare at the end adds such a fun detail,” she says. With just the right amount of stretch, these jeans are comfortable enough for all-day wear while still maintaining their shape. “I think this was the first silhouette I tried when I left my skinny jeans era and never looked back,” she adds. Whether paired with slim sneakers or heeled boots, this style is effortlessly versatile.

Uniqlo Wide Straight Jeans
Uniqlo delivers on the baggy trend with a jean that’s as comfortable as it is affordable. “I’m obsessed with these jeans,” says Neelo Noory, LA-based stylist. “First off, they’re at a perfect price point—a hair under $50—can you believe?! They come in a range of washes, but my favorite is 62 Blue—deliciously ’80s. They give you that baggy fit without overwhelming your shape.” While they do puddle around the ankle, she says that’s part of the charm, especially when paired with chunky loafers or fall boots.

Old Navy Mid-Rise Rockstar Super-Skinny Jeans
Old Navy crushes it when it comes to affordable denim that looks and fits great. With a variety of versatile washes, this pair is perfect for any occasion, whether styled with a blazer or a casual tee. Plus, the petite and regular inseam options make them ideal for all heights (they come in tall too)—no hemming needed. “It’s tough to find mid-rise jeans, so when I found this affordable style from Old Navy, I was hooked. They’re super stretchy, so they feel like leggings, but they don’t lose their shape the way so many stretchy jeans do. They’re also nicely tapered so you can tuck them into your boots,” says Glamour’s commerce director Brie Schwartz.

Reformation Val 90s Mid Rise Straight Jeans
What’s the most flattering jean in my closet right now? This pair ranks high! I’m neither tall nor short, which makes jean length tricky. Most of the time, jeans either pool around my ankles—requiring a heel that’s higher than practical (especially in my mom-of-two era)—or they hit awkwardly short, creating a stumpy look I’d rather avoid. That said, I’ll never complain when a pair gives me a legs-for-days effect, and this mid-rise pair did just that. They also offer a bit of tummy control. While they called for a heel, it didn’t need to be sky-high, and I was able to fully embrace the wide-cuffed trend that’s so popular right now. The darker wash is perfect as I transition into my fall wardrobe, and the rigid fabric feels structured in all the right ways. Are they my most loungeable pair? No, but when I want to look casually put-together, they’re an absolute winner.

Pistola Lexi Distressed Ankle Wide Leg Jeans
These are a fantastic option for petites who don’t want to deal with hemming their jeans or leggier ladies seeking an ankle-length fit. With a clean, tailored finish, the wide-leg silhouette is roomy without being overwhelming—perfect for anyone who wants to embrace the baggy trend without going too oversized. “I’ve never loved shopping for jeans, but ever since I discovered Pistola Denim, I actually get excited to shop all their styles. This particular mid-rise pair is very spacious and stretchy, doesn’t drag on my 5’2″ frame, and goes well with all my pointed-toed shoes like slingback kitten heels,” says Glamour senior commerce editor Jenifer Calle.

I’m here for the wide-leg trend, but major width doesn’t exactly do me any favors. I’m more of a bootcut-leg-adjacent girlie, which is how these Aritzia jeans fit—my Goldilocks pair, if you will. Not too baggy to overwhelm me, not too slim to feel outdated. Juuuust right. They’re a bit snug in the hips, but when I’m going for a more polished look, like with a long blazer, I’m all for it. And most amazingly, the length! At 5’4″, I rarely find jeans that work with flats, but huzzah! These are perfect with my well-loved (read: slightly tattered) velvet Mary Janes from DĂ´en.

If you’re looking for jeans that fit a petite frame without the hassle of a tailor, fashion editor Jenn Barthole has found her go-to pair. “These cropped jeans fit my petite frame perfectly,” she says. “The classic straight fit, slim silhouette, and ankle length make them ultra-flattering. I love the versatility of the medium blue wash, which gives them day-to-night wearability.”

7 For All Man Kind B(air) Ankle Skinny
For a premium skinny jean that checks all the boxes, 7 For All Mankind’s B(air) delivers a high-stretch, ultra-light fit that feels like a second skin. The mid-rise, ankle-length cut in a versatile medium wash? Perfect for pairing with cozy knits or feminine tops. Basically, it’s your go-to for all-day comfort and effortless style. “I’m 40 and I’ve been wearing these since I was in my teens so you do the math. They’re ultra comfortable with a ton of stretch, and while they’re certainly not engineered for tummy control, because they sit mid-rise at the hip, they’re more flattering than most high-rise jeans. The only issue is they do lose their shape quickly so they’ll need frequent trips to the dryer.”

Mother The Mid Rise Dazzler Ankle
For a cropped, super-stretchy jean that feels trendy and easy, this pair is a winner. The ankle length is perfect for showing off your favorite footwear, and the stretchy cotton blend means primo comfort—none of that stiff-jeans stuff. “While I’m a mid-rise loyalist, what I like about these is that they’re a nice in-between of mid and slightly higher so I still feel on trend without sacrificing comfort. These are buttery soft, and I love the kick out flare at the bottom, which is a way for me to lean into what’s popular without going out of my sartorial safety zone,” says Schwartz.
