5 Things We Learned From WWE RAW (April 28, 2025)

The April 28 episode of WWE RAW created new angles in the storylines that started at WrestleMania 41 or the RAW after ‘Mania. Some of those storylines will lead to a match at Backlash on May 10, while others will need more time to build up before leading to a match.

With that said, we take a look at five things we learned from WWE RAW after the April 28 episode.

Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles Is Bound To Happen
Dominik Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 and successfully defended it against Penta on RAW after ‘Mania a day later. It seems now, though, that his next opponent has been revealed.

Dirty Dom had a backstage segment with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis, who replaced RAW GM Adam Pearce for Monday’s episode. During the segment, Mysterio asked for time off because he now holds the Intercontinental Championship, but Aldis had no intention of granting his request.

AJ Styles, meanwhile, was part of the segment, and when Mysterio left the room, he told Aldis that he had an idea. We could speculate that this idea is a match between Mysterio and Styles for the Intercontinental Championship.

Liv Morgan Is Taking Time Off To Film a Movie
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez reclaimed the Women’s Tag Team Titles one day after losing them, but it’s unclear when they will defend them again. Morgan had a backstage segment with Aldis on RAW and told him that she would take time off from WWE to film a Hollywood movie.

WWE didn’t provide any details on how much time she will miss, but as Morgan and Rodriguez are the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions, it could be a sign that the former Women’s World Champion will not stay away from WWE for too long.

Sami Zayn Is Loyal to Roman Reigns
Sami Zayn interrupted Seth Rollins’ opening segment on RAW and called him out for his alliance with Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker. The former Intercontinental Champion even called The Visionary a hypocrite and told Rollins that this alliance reminded him of The Bloodline.

The former World Heavyweight Champion made an offer to Zayn to move to SmackDown, but the latter turned it down and got a brutal beatdown by Breakker and Rollins.

After Monday’s RAW, it’s safe to say that Zayn showed his loyalty to Roman Reigns, and it will be interesting to see whether the two Bloodline members will team up to take revenge on Rollins and Breakker.

Bayley Will Return and Feud With Becky Lynch
Bayley was scheduled to team up with Lyra Valkyria and take on Morgan and Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMani, but The Role Model was ruled out for the match as a result of a backstage assault. As a result, tthe current Women’s Intercontinental Champion joined forces with a returning Becky Lynch to dethrone Morgan and Rodriguez.

A day later, though, on RAW after ‘Mania, the latter reclaimed their titles and forced a Lynch heel turn. The Man showed up on RAW this week and addressed her actions, revealing that she was the one to attack Bayley at WrestleMania 41.

Lynch then took a shot at Valkyria, with the latter showing up to confront her and challenge her to a title match at Backlash. Following Monday’s segment, Lynch will need to focus not only on Valkyria but Bayley as well, since The Role Model will return to take revenge on The Man.

Finn Bálor Was Kept in the Dark About JD McDonagh’s Return on RAW
The Prince had a backstage segment with the rest of The Judgment Day, telling JD McDonagh that he was unaware of his return on the April 21 episode of RAW. McDonagh told Finn Bálor that he had informed Mysterio about that, but the latter never let Bálor know.

Meanwhile, Bálor was unaware of his tag team match with McDonagh against The War Raiders and told the rest of the faction to inform him in advance about their intentions and not keep him in the dark. This behavior, though, from the other members could be a major sign that they plan to kick The Prince out of the faction.
