A ton of sneakers have flooded the streets in the past couple of months, with announcements for the summer and fall seasons seemingly dropping daily. As new models and vintage sneakers arrive, it can be difficult to keep track of what’s hot and what’s not.

So, VIBE has compiled a shortlist of sneakers that you should consider giving attention to. We’ve strived to keep the list to the point, honing in on six kicks from different walks of life and styles to ensure that you’re, at the very least, inspired to try something new.

Without further ado, here are six sneakers that should be on your radar in 2024.

One of the most hyped sneakers for 2024 is an altered version of the Air Jordan 4 in collaboration with BMX fly guy Nigel Sylvester. The Air Jordan 4 RM SP “Grandma’s Driveway” pays homage to the moments Nigel spent with his grandma and biking in her driveway—an ode to youthful wonder and nostalgia. The sneaker arrives in a pro-green and metallic platinum-Black-sail colorway and a series of special features. Instead of Nike Air on the kick’s heel, Nigel’s cleverly arranged BIKE AIR returns. A note that reads “Bike by Air Jordan” is found on the sneaker’s tongue with a new joint branded sock liner to drive home the fruitful collaboration. Fans who secured a pair of the coveted kicks will be treated to unique bike-themed stickers and a shoe box reiterating the familial theme behind the sneakers.

Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RM “Grandma’s Driveway” arrives on Saturday (July 20) and will retail for $150. Fans can purchase the sneakers on the SNKRS app, StockX and at participating retailers.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 “Kill Bill”

So, you’ve been swept away and caught up in the Adidas Samba hype, huh? Oh? You’re looking for something new? Well, let us introduce you to the timeless Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66. The “Kill Bill,” affectionately named after the critically acclaimed Quentin Tarantino film, is the perfect replacement for folks looking to get out of the Samba game or addition for those looking for a Samba-esque sneaker. Slimmed kicks are all the rage in 2024 with companies like Puma, Nike, Gola, and Victoria trying to revive vintage models to cash in on the craze. For Onitsuka Tiger—they’ve been here the whole time.

The “Kill Bill” dons a yellow colorway, synonymous with the mentioned movie, with a hint of white on the bottom of the shoe’s heel to balance out the brightness. Onitsuka Tiger’s logo is detailed in Black and wraps around the top of the sneaker’s heel. A relatively lowkey design for a lowkey icon. Don’t sleep on a sneaker legend, y’all.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 “Kill Bill” is available for purchase on GOAT.com and other retailers.

Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray”

Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray” are finally on their way. After numerous leaks and rumors, the highly anticipated colorway is set to arrive this fall. Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray” takes its namesake and lore from the “Broken Not Beaten” campaign from 2011. A T-shirt designed by the Oregon company for Bryant featured the athlete’s broken hand wearing his five NBA Championship rings. The Kobes are decorated in a blue and light blue combination, with an icy blue sole accenting the wintery hue of the Nike logo. An “X-Ray” design is also featured on both feet, showing an ice-cold skeleton of Kobe’s foot extending from the top of the shoe to the kick’s toe box.

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-Ray” will be available for purchase on October 31 on SNKRS and Nike.

ASICS GEL-NYC ‘Cream’

ASICS really have been on quite the run since about 2018/2019—if you know, you know. And they haven’t stopped putting out heat yet. For the lowkey and cozy, the ASICS GEL-NYC silhouette is THEE sneaker for you, and it comes in various colorways to choose from. But the ASICS GEL-NYC “Cream” is a bit of a sleeper at the moment. This sneaker may not be ideal for the vibes of sweltering summer days as it includes an array of neutral colors consisting of cream, tan, mocha, and grey. This ASICS colorway screams autumn and winter, so make sure you cop these before hypebeasts catch on and run up the prices. The ASICS GEL-NYC is all about comfort, and the brand maximizes its coziness by combining lightweight foams and GEL technology inserts. The shoe is an ode to the brand’s GEL-NIMBUS 3 from the early aughts, mixed with the fan-favorite GEL-MC PLUS V.

Sneakerheads looking to make an addition to their closet can purchase the ASICS GEL-NYC ‘Cream’ on Asics.com for a retail of $130.

Nike Dunk Low “Black Spider-Man”

Nike recently announced that the Dunk Low “Black Spider-Man” will be released on Oct. 31. Unfortunately for the homies with big feet, you’ll have to sit this one out as the sneaker will be released exclusively in grade school sizes. The sneaker, which also goes by the name “Trick or Treat,” features Black tumbled leather on the upper, mudguards, and its heel. A dark obsidian grey is found on the sneaker’s side with a spider web backsplash behind the Nike logo. Additional webs can be found on the toe box with a grey rubber outsole. 3M ties the whole kick together, making them picture-ready for the fit, or costume, checks.

Nike Dunk Low “Black Spider-Man” will be available for purchase on October 31 on SNKRS and Nike.

Vans and A BATHING APE have joined forces to bring forth a dope collaboration that reimagines both the Old Skool and the Sk8-Mid silhouettes. Mixing BAPE‘s iconic designs with the timeless models of Vans sneakers, the two kicks commemorate two brands that helped shift streetwear culture. The Old Skool is detailed with the BATHING APE com print in a rainbow assortment of colors. The Sk8-Mid rocks the green camo throughout the Vans canvas, creating a tactical art arrangement for the model.

A full Vans x BAPE collaboration will arrive alongside the sneakers on Saturday (July 27). Fans can purchase the drip at Vans.com and BAPE stores, and participating retailers.
