Fortnite hot spots are a feature that Epic Games reintroduced in the battle royale during the OG season. The feature has made a comeback in Chapter 5 Season 1 as well. This guide will help you figure out what these are and how you can find them.

Hot spots were initially introduced during Chapter 1 Season 9 of Fortnite. As the game progressed, this feature was soon vaulted and was replaced with a different mechanic. However, given how popular it was, Epic Games decided to bring it back once again.

As the name suggests, the term “hot spot” has something to do with the different locations on the map. So what are they, and how do you locate them in Fortnite? Let’s dive in and check out everything you need to know about hot spots in the Battle Royale.

What are hot spots in Fortnite?

Usually, before jumping off the battle bus in Fortnite, you tend to look at the map to determine the location where you want to drop in. When you’ve opened the map, you will notice that there are a few named locations that are highlighted in gold.

For every match, you will see a maximum of three such locations with their names highlighted in gold. These aren’t fixed. For example, if you see Snooty Steppes highlighted in gold during one match, you might not see it again for the next couple of matches.

Epic GamesDrones can be found at hot spots only

Whenever you’re at a hot spot in Fortnite, you will notice that there are supply drones flying about. You can shoot these drones and collect whatever supplies they drop. Usually, they have some high quality gear, so it’s worth hunting down these drones.

The only drawback is that, you won’t be the only one gunning for these drones. Any player who’s landed at one of these hot spots in Fortnite, is there in pursuit of these supply drones. Don’t forget to watch your six, while you’re hunting these flying machines.
