AJAX TARGETING HENDERSON
Ajax have confirmed their interest in England midfielder Jordan Henderson.
It is being widely reported that Henderson is unsettled in Saudi Arabia, and has attracted the attention of Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.
Meanwhile, Ajax coach John van ‘t Schip claimed there is concrete interest from the Dutch Eredivisie side.
“There is serious talk going on with Henderson,” he told ESPN Netherlands. “He still has some things to arrange in Saudi Arabia.
“It could be a nice match. It’s no secret that we could really use that type of player. Other guys can benefit from that.”
Despite the interest, ESPN also reports that Al-Ettifaq would be reluctant to let Henderson leave after only a few months at the club.
Ajax want a permanent deal for a small fee and not a loan move, and could turn their attention to other targets if a compromise cannot be found with the Saudi side.
