Al Wahda have now confirmed their permanent replacement for coach Pitso Mosimane.

South African coach Pitso Mosimane is reportedly out of the country and looks set to be unveiled by Saudi Pro League side Abha Club.

Saudi Arabian publication Arriyadiyah first broke the news just under two weeks ago that Mosimane agreed terms with Abha to officially succeed Tunisian Youssef Al-Mannai, who was relieved of his duties after a string of bad results.

However, the multiple-title winning coach remained in the country as one of the leading analysts for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Saudi Arabian publication further stated that the former Al Ahli coach was expected to land in Saudi on Saturday (20 January).

The 59-year-old coach’s disappearance absence as a pundit as fuelled speculation that he has already left for the Middle East to conclude a deal with Abha, who have tasked Mosimane with rescuing the side from relegation.

Mosimane’s first task at Abha would be to analyze the squad and discuss the transfer needs of the team with club President Dr. Ahmed Al-Hadithi, according to the report by Arriyadiyah.

The former Bafana Bafana coach will have some time to prepare as the Saudi Pro League was on recess due to the AFC Asian Cup and will resume in mid-February.

Mosimane could not continue the Al Ahli project after he promoted the team from the second tier to the Pro League at the first time of asking, winning the title outright, and subsequently terminating his contract with the club.

The three-time CAF Champions League winner, who was unattached since parting ways with United Arab Emirates side Al Wahda in November last year, could finally have the opportunity to coach in a league that is becoming popular around the world, with influential players from European leagues flocking to the lucrative league.
