Frieren is up against Denken in episode 21 of ‘Sousou no Frieren’ titled “The World Of Magic.” Laufen steals the Stille and hides while Denken and Ritcher distract Frieren’s team. However, they seem to have severely underestimated the trio of girls.

2. Episode 22 Speculation

With the first test ending, we will move on with the test. Now, all the participants will be competing on their own against their previous team members. Both Frieren and Fern have passed and are happy to see each other. 

The examiners have their eye on Frieren now that she did the impossible and broke the barrier. With the beginning of the second test, the level will increase, and the death of the remaining participants is also inevitable. Serie is also intrigued by Frieren’s return.

3. Recap of Episode 21

Frieren remembers meeting Serie when she was with Flamme. Denken thinks the true joy of magic is searching for it and believes that the privilege ruins that. Frieren agrees, remembering the time she said the same to Serie. Serie thought she had no ambition, but Flamme called her a mage of the peaceful times.

Kanne and Lawine fight Ritcher, but Ritcher underestimates them. He keeps striking them down, but they get back up. Denken wishes to finish the fight quickly so he does not drain his mana, so he switches to bigger spells. However, Frieren easily counters and defeats him. 

Frieren demands Laufen to return their Stille, or she will kill Denken. Laufen falls for her threat and reveals herself, and Frieren takes the Stille back. Denken wanted to become a first-class mage to visit a grave inside the Northern Plateau. Frieren finishes analyzing the barrier and undoes it.

Nobody thought it was possible to pass Serie, but Frieren proved it by breaking the barrier. Serie instantly becomes aware of Frieren’s presence again. The examiners call her the last great mage of her era. Breaking the barrier lets in the rain, and Kanne and Lawine easily defeat Ritcher.

Denken finds another defeated party who has their Stille and challenges them to fight with their fists. The sun sets, and the first test ends with eighteen participants passing. Meanwhile, Stark is alone and lonely but tries to convince himself otherwise.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga by Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. It was launched in April 2020, and went on to win several prizes.

The story starts when a group of heroes come back home after defeating a demon. Frieren, an elf mage, has hundreds of years ahead of her due to her long lifespan.
