Mauricio Pochettino has insisted he retains the faith of the Chelsea ownership amid mounting calls for him to be sacked.

The Argentine is under immense pressure from fans, many of whom made their feelings known during the recent 4-2 defeat to Wolves with chants for former manager Jose Mourinho, while former owner Roman Abramovich was also serenaded by a group of supporters.

Ahead of Wednesdayā€™s FA Cup replay with Aston Villa, Pochettino was adamant that he has heard nothing but positive messages from Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and those calling the shots at Stamford Bridge.

ā€œI didnā€™t hear nothing in another way around,ā€ Pochettino said when asked if he still feels as though he retains the ownersā€™ faith. ā€œI received a very good text from them.

ā€œWe are all together in this. And that is the most important thing but of course they are in contact with me and the sporting directors every day.ā€

Pochettino also rejected suggestions he has found theĀ ChelseaĀ job tougher than expected and admitted he has spoken with his squad to reaffirm his commitment to the club.

ā€œThat question was before and I think I explained of course, always a tough job, of course itā€™s a difficult job but at the same time, itā€™s an exciting project,ā€ he continued. ā€œItā€™s a project that, knowing it is difficult and in this type of moment, maybe itā€™s the situation that is not nice and we can learn. Itā€™s a good opportunity to learn.

ā€œI told the players in a meeting today, ā€˜I trust you more than ever, I am going to support you more than everā€™. I am not a normal boss, I am the leader and I need to reflect in every single action that I really trust and I really trust the players that we have.

ā€œOf course we are going to face this moment with knowing that we can get back and start to win games.ā€

  1. I don’t think Chelsea’s bad performance is of the coach.
I would rather prefer that they give the coach some time to rebuild the whole team from scratch.
