Diablo 4 developer confirms delay in the release of Gauntlet and Leaderboards

Summary

Developers Blizzard have announced via the General Manager of Diablo 4 that the Gauntlets and Leaderboards have been delayed.

They have decided to delay the release as they are still polishing these modes.

A final release date was not announced, and what Blizzard will do in the following announcement remains to be seen.

Blizzard has been subject to much controversy recently, mainly because of the creative choices that shipped with their latest title, Diablo 4.

Diablo 4’s General Manager Rod Fergusson said that the development team has taken up the choice of “polishing things” a little bit more. This will postpone the release of the Gauntlet and the Leaderboards, as teased ahead of the season.

Most fans disliked that the developers did not give a final release date despite postponing the release of the Gauntlet and the leaderboards.

The release is expected later in Diablo 4’s Season 3. Despite the delay, Ferguson has kept the players of Diablo 4 hopeful by suggesting that more details and a reveal date will be announced soon.

The Gauntlet and the Leaderboards were for the competitive-minded Diablo 4 players who went into the game hoping to slay more of the unfortunate every passing day.

The Gauntlet was set to be available to players after reaching World Tier 4. Being level 100 is not a requirement, but being good at the game is.

The Dungeon has a specific layout with its own set of monsters lasting one week and set to be reset in the coming week. This is where the leaderboards come in.

However, only the top 1000 players worldwide enter the leaderboard. There are set to be several brackets. Players consider the delay a massive step forward as Diablo 4 had the chance to be the next big competitive dungeons and dragons, rivaling the likes of League of Legends.

However, it is for the greater good that the developers take more time to fine-tune it. This is because it would be catastrophic as a worldwide competitive leaderboard mode must be released in the best state and not in a half-hearted attempt to attract more players.
