Taylor Swift Donates $100K To Family Of Woman Fatally Shot At Super Bowl Parade

In a show of compassion and support, Taylor Swift reached deep into her wallet to donate $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan.

The former radio personality was one of the victims tragically killed at the Super Bowl parade in Missouri on Wednesday (February 14).

Taylor Swift’s Makes Donation To The Lopez Family
Organizers held the event at the Union Station to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the San Francisco 49ers.

But what was supposed to be a day of pride turned into a deadly scene. As The Shade Room previously reported, gunshots were fired into the crowd shortly after the procession ended.

Galvan, who attended the parade with her siblings, was shot and consequently succumbed to her injuries.

Her grieving family has since set up a GoFundMe Page, requesting donations to help fund the funeral costs. And just hours after creating the funding page, Swift’s donation came as a ray of light.

Taylor made two separate $50,000 payments. Both donations included the same message, which read,

“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift.”

With an initial goal of raising $75,000, the GoFundMe has since collected over $299,000.

Swift attended the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday (February 11) to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. But the pop star was a no-show at the parade as she resumed her next set of shows on her Eras Tour in Australia.

Very kind and generous of Taylor Swift to donate 100k to her family. Please give if you can https://t.co/WJcZ1a3zvo pic.twitter.com/WInaaXH6hk

Lisa’s Family React To Her Passing
Galvan’s death was announced on Wednesday evening, shortly after the shooting occurred.

KKFI, the radio station where she worked and co-hosted the ‘Taste of Tejano’ show, announced her tragic passing in a statement shared on Facebook.

“It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally,” they wrote. “Our hearts and prayers are with her family. We encourage anyone who feels they saw something to reach out to law enforcement at 816 234 5111.”

The Washington Post reports that the shooting left twenty others injured. They also state that law enforcement officials announced the arrest of three individuals, two of whom are juveniles, following the incident. However, the identity of the individuals currently in custody remains unknown.

Meanwhile, Galvan’s brother, Beto Lopez, expressed his grief, describing the situation as a “bad dream,” per CBS News.

Additionally, Lisa’s sister, Carmen Lopez-Murguia, remembered Lisa’s joy on the day of the parade, a day that ended in an unimaginable tragedy for the family.

“She was just really happy to be there,” said Lopez-Murguia. “We did not expect the day to end like this.”
