NFL combine: 40-yard dash, QB workouts, key measurements and more

It’s been an interesting day for quarterback workouts here at the combine. Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman was the only quarterback to run the 40-yard dash in his group, which was quite the spectacle (and funny too).
Of the projected first-round quarterbacks, J.J. McCarthy had a solid day throwing with the first group and looked comfortable moving with the added weight that he had put on for the combine. If he can run well at his pro day workout and stay in the range of 219 pounds, he may end up fulfilling his potential as a top-10 pick.
As far as receivers go, Keon Coleman had a slow 40-yard dash time of 4.64 seconds, but moved well in the field drills and hit over 20 miles per hour in the gauntlet drills according to Next Gen Stats, first among all wide receivers.

LSU QB and Heisman winner Jayden Daniels did not do measurements today and has departed from the NFL combine, sources say. He wasn’t throwing later today and has planned to perform at LSU’s pro day on March 27.
