Emma Stone suffers wardrobe malfunction before Oscars acceptance speech, blames Ryan Gosling

Emma Stone zipped up to the stage at the Oscars — and unzipped her dress in the process.

The star suffered a wardrobe malfunction while accepting the award for best actress at the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday referring to the busted back of her strapless Louis Vuitton gown.

“My dress is broken; I think it happened during ‘I’m just Ken,’” she told the audience, referring to Ryan Gosling’s show-stopping performance of his “Barbie” hit earlier in the show.

“The other night I was panicking, as you can kind of see happens a lot, that maybe something like this could happen,” she added before launching into an emotional acceptance speech.

Prior to her zipper snafu, Stone hit the red carpet in her peplum-adorned mint green gown — a color choice which, according to E! News correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi, was an homage to both the “sorbet theme” of her costumes in “Poor Things” and her looks at this year’s Golden Globes and the SAG Awards.

Luckily the star’s pricey bling — a 30-carat yellow diamond choker — remained in place throughout her wardrobe malfunction.

After delivering her speech, the star once again warned the audience, “don’t look at the back of my dress” as she shuffled off the stage.

Stone wasn’t the only one risking wardrobe malfunctions at this year’s award show, as John Cena jokingly stepped out on stage without any clothes earlier in the night — ironically while presenting the award for best costume design to the 2023 film “Poor Things.”

The film earned gold statuettes in four of the eleven categories it was nominated for, also including best hair and makeup and best production design.
