Video: West Ham’s David Moyes talks himself up after quarter-final berth
David Moyes didn’t waste any time pushing forward his own managerial candidacy at West Ham, after the Hammers had waltzed into the Europa League quarter-finals.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg of their Round of 16 tie against Freiburg, the result was never in doubt once Lucas Paqueta had opened the scoring and Jarrod Bowen had added another before half-time.
Freiburg offered nothing as an attacking force and second half goals from Aaron Cresswell and Mo Kudus saw the East Londoners romp to a 5-0 win on the night (5-1 on agg).
It’s West Ham’s third European quarter-final in three years, and the manager noted that he didn’t know if that had been done before, leaving no one in any doubt as to who achieved the feat.
“For this club to do that three years in a row, I don’t know if that’s been done before at West Ham” ?
