Some quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2 unfold entirely within the same city or nearby. However, there are a few others that take you across multiple regions. One of these involves a valuable blade. Here’s our guide on how to repair the Dulled Regalia Sword in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s part of a quest called Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge. Lastly, please be reminded that this guide contains spoilers.

Obtain the Dulled Regalia Sword from RomanThe Dulled Regalia Sword is given to you by one of Vernworth’s guards loyal to Commander Brant. His name is Roman and you can find him in Vernworth Castle – Fountain Garden. As you explore the area, Roman will speak with you and tell you about the blade’s rich history, as it’s only wielded by the Sovran.

Note that you may need to complete other quests from Brant, such as The Caged Magistrate and The Stolen Throne to trigger this request from Roman.

Ask Roderick about the bladeNow, it just so happens that there’s a blacksmith in Vernworth, Roderick, who runs the weapons shop at the marketplace. Tell him about the blade, and he admits he has no clue how to repair it. However, he tells you that a dwarf in Bakbattahl might know a thing or two about this craftsmanship.

From Vernworth to BakbattahlThe next step in your endeavor to repair the Dulled Regalia Sword in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to head to Bakbattahl. Here’s a quick summary:

You have to complete all or most of Commander Brant’s quests until you’re able to undertake the Feast of Deception. Note that this might lock you out of progressing the Ulrika romance/Readvent of Calamity quest, so we suggest doing that segment first.Feast of Deception requires you to wear the Courtly Tunic and Courtly Breeches found in noble’s homes (part of your tasks in The Stolen Throne). Talk to Brant to get a cutscene. After the cutscene, Brant gives you a pass that lets you go through the Checkpoint Rest Town. You’re also rewarded with a reusable Portcrystal.Ride the oxcart at the western part of Vernworth to reach Checkpoint Rest Town. Then, buy a Beastren Mask to go through the gate.Continue along the desert path. It’s up to you if you want to tackle the Coral Snakes/Hugo quest arc along the way.Complete the Nation of the Lambent Flame main quest so you can enter Bakbattahl freely. You’re going to meet a dwarf blacksmith named Brokkr, but he’s sworn off making weapons and doesn’t want to help you with the blade. Thankfully, his assistant Sara is more than willing and able.

Digger’s Ruins and GlimmercoleThe Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge now has a new objective: you need to gather 15 Glimmercole for Sara. Here’s what you need to know:

Glimmercole can be found in the Digger’s Ruins, which should be marked on your map if you’re tracking the quest. The mineral deposits have a bright green glow, but only in the dark. Lighting your lantern or having spell effects that emit light will cause the ore deposits to grow dim, making them hard to see. There are also fake/useless variants called Glymercoles. The best way to differentiate between the two types of nodes, even if they turn dim, is that Glimmercole has the “Gather” prompt, whereas Glymercole has the “Examine” prompt.Oh, and watch out for the Goreminotaur in the cavern. In any case, you can collect 25 or more Glimmercole in the caverns. Once you’re done, hand over all of them to Sara. She’ll then ask if you want to entrust the sword to her. Sara will say that she needs a blazehammer. She’ll disappear the next day, and Brokkr will tell you to go after her.

From Bakbattahl to Agamen Volcanic IslandYour goal now is to reach the Mountain Base Cave in Agamen Volcanic Island. Sara’s location will be marked on your map, but the region won’t be revealed since you haven’t journeyed there yet. In any case, here’s what you can expect:

You can ride the Bakbattahl ropeway back to the central station. Then, from the central station, ride the ropeway leading to the south. There are other points of interest that you can check out in the jungle to the southwest, such as Medusa’s Lair and a means of obtaining the unlockable Mystic Spearhand vocation (assuming you haven’t acquired it yet).If you continue along the road to the southeast, you have to go through Drabnir’s Grotto.Upon exiting the dungeon, you’ll arrive at Agamen Volcanic Island. You can unlock more vocations here, such as the Magick-Archer and Warfarer.Don’t forget that you still need to go to the Mountain Base Cave to check on Sara’s well-being.

The blazehammer and the return journeyThe Mountain Base Cave is filled with Saurians, so be careful when you step foot inside. As you head deeper into the caverns, you’ll see a skeletal husk of a drake, with magma spewing from its mouth. Sara is also there, and she’s heating up her forge hammer. Escort her outside and be quick about it lest the hammer cool off. Upon exiting the cave, she’ll head off and return to Bakbattahl.

Return to the forge at Bakbattahl whenever you please. Then, speak with Sara to obtain the repaired Regalia Sword. When you’re free, revisit Vernworth and seek out Roman. Give the blade to him to receive 6,000 XP and 35,000 gold.

This is what it takes to repair the Dulled Regalia Sword in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We told you that you’d head to numerous regions. How’s that for a long journey?
