The Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles announced Friday they partnered to provide a $10 million donation to Baltimore Community Foundation’s Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund.

The fund is intended to help families and port workers impacted by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge along with first responders, small businesses and surrounding communities.

“Our heartfelt condolences are with the victims of this tragedy and their families,” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said. “We are thankful to our first responders for their bravery and tireless work. The Ravens are honored to support the Francis Scott Key Bridge recovery efforts and affected Maryland families and businesses. We are confident that Baltimore and Maryland will keep displaying tremendous spirit and strength during this time of great need.”

New Orioles owner David M. Rubenstein also released a statement:

The Key Bridge collapsed on March 26 after a container ship lost power and struck one of the bridge’s key supports. Six construction workers who were on the bridge at the time are presumed dead.

President Joe Biden planned to travel to Baltimore on Friday and meet with some family members of the victims.
