IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside: Full finishing order for Lionel Sanders and co after day of drama

Lionel Sanders made a splash in his first race of the season on Saturday, as the Canadian put together one of the best performances of his career to take the win at IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside.

Overlooked by so many for so long now, the Windsor native rolled back the years and proved once again that age is no limit in middle distance triathlon, taking down a stacked field six weeks after his 36th birthday.

In second, Sam Long started off his Oceanside-Singapore double header with a strong race, whilst Jackson Laundry made it three Oceanside podiums in a row, repeating his third place finish from 2023.

Further down the field there was good news for Braden Currie – who was disqualified for speeding but later had that penalty overturned and was reinstated into the results.
