Megan Fox Finally Broke Her Silence on Those Chelsea From Love Is Blind Comparisons
Remember when the entire internet couldn’t stop talking about Chelsea Blackwell’s controversial Megan Fox faux pas during Love Is Blind? Two full months later, the Jennifer’s Body star has finally responded to the drama.
Because two months is basically an eternity in celeb gossip years, here’s a bit of a refresher: Chelsea first drew the internet’s ire back in February when Netflix dropped the first few episodes of season six. During the pod portion of the process, the flight attendant casually told her future ex-fiancĂ© that she’s been told she looks like the Transformers star. âItâs just because I have dark hair and blue eyes,” she clarified, adding, âBut I don’t see it so don’t get excited.â
Unfortunately, Jimmy Presnell ignored her warning, telling producers that âshe definitely liedâ after seeing her for the first time. Following an intense wave of backlash, Chelsea said she regretted making the comparison and reached out to apologize to Fox on Instagram. Even the actor’s ex-husband Brian Austin Green weighed in on the drama, telling TMZ that Fox âwould be flattered.â However, we couldn’t know for sure, since Fox stayed completely silentâŠuntil now.
On April 13, Fox told E! News that she’s ânever had more people text me about somethingâ before this viral moment. And while the 37-year-old actor isn’t familiar with the show, she thinks âpeople went way too hardâ on Chelsea. “I didn’t watch it, but I think in general, no one deserves to get bullied,” she said, later suggesting that some people feel justified trolling celebrities because they âget paid enoughâ to put up with it, which doesn’t necessarily apply to reality stars.
âShe’s just dealing with the bullying and not getting any kind of a reward for it,â Fox told The Rundown host Erin Lim Rhodes at Revolve Festival. “And that’s really fucked up.”
Fox also believes âa hundred thousand percentâ that people told Chelsea she looks like her, which is all Love Is Blind contestant said in the first place. âI did see a picture of her,” Fox said, pointing out same facial features Chelsea mentioned in the episode. “A hundred thousand percent, people have told her, ‘You kind of look like Megan Fox,’â Fox continued. “So I believe she’s telling the truth and I hope like she still has that sparkle in her eye. I hope the world didn’t steal it from her.”
The actor continued, âMine died long ago from being bullied for 20 years. So I hope that didn’t happen to her. Best wishes and blessings.â
