NFL Rumors: Eagles ‘Calling Everyone’ Trying to Trade Up in 2024 Draft Before Round 1

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has long been one of the NFL’s most aggressive executives, and it doesn’t appear he’s slowing down any time soon.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the Eagles have been calling other teams looking to trade up in the 2024 NFL draft.

“The Eagles are calling everyone it feels like trying to move up. They’re one of the more aggressive teams,” a general manager said.

The Eagles traded up in the first round of the last three drafts to select defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis and wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Only once in the last eight NFL drafts have the Eagles stayed and selected in their original first-round spot.

Philadelphia has the No. 22 pick Thursday night and also boasts a pair of second-round picks (Nos. 50 and 53) in Day 2. The Eagles could look to package one of those seconds with their first-round pick to move up a few spots if a player they like slides down.

Cornerback, linebacker and offensive line are three of the biggest needs for the Eagles. While this is not considered an elite cornerback class, Roseman could zero in on Alabama’s Terrion Arnold or Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell if he trades up.

If the Eagles aren’t able to jump into the teens, offensive line will likely be their focus. The B/R Scouting Department has Philadelphia taking Oklahoma offensive tackle Tyler Guyton in its final mock draft.
