Snl24 | Sassa dates out but expect DELAYS!

Sassa has confirmed that social grant payments will be made on the second working day of each month.

THE South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the payment dates for various social grants for May, which will be spread across two weeks.

This considers the public holiday on Wednesday, 1 May, formally known as the Worker’s Day.

Gogos and madalas will be happy to know that they’ll be the ones to be paid first, with those getting disability and child support grants having to wait for the second week of the month for their payments.

Here are the May Sassa date

Older Persons Grant – 3 May 2024

Disability Grants – 6 May 2024

Children’s Grants – 7 May 2024

Sassa has confirmed that social grant payments will be made on the second working day of each month; however, payments will not be made on public holidays or weekends.

What to know about Sassa grant increases.

At the start of April, Sassa beneficiaries received their first annual grant. Older beneficiaries between the ages of 60 and 74 received R2 180, and those above 75 received R2 200.

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant also increased from R350 to R370 in April.
