Rams sign former Eagles RB Boston Scott
The draft may be over, but the Los Angeles Rams aren’t done making additions to the roster. Late Tuesday afternoon, the Rams announced the signing of free agent running back Boston Scott. Scott has spent all six years of his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles.Â

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 30, 2024Scott has rushed for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns in his Philadelphia career, while tacking on 71 receptions for 566 yards. Scott was mainly a special teamer for the Eagles and part of their committee of rushers, but was a valued member of the team’s locker room throughout his career.Â
The Rams have their top-two rushers with Kyren Williams and newly-drafted Blake Corum, but Scott’s addition could spell trouble for one of Zach Evans or Ronnie Rivers. I labeled the two of them as potential losers of the draft after the selection of Corum, and the addition of Scott only adds to that. Scott has extensive experience on special teams and his experience as a pass-catcher could vault Scott into becoming a roster lock, and the Rams usually only carry four running backs.Â
