All Nations University matriculates 683 students for 2023/2024 academic year

A total of 683 students have been admitted into the All Nations University in Koforidua, for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Made up of 462 females and 221 males, the matriculants will pursue various disciplines including Bachelors in Emergency Method Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering, Electronic and Communication Engineering and Biblical studies.

The Acting Registrar, Miss Christabel Odame, administered the matriculation oath and presented them with the pledge.

The President of the university, Reverend Dr Samuel Donkor, in welcoming the freshers said the world had become competitive due to constant change and added that continuous education and re-education was required to make an individual relevant in any profession.

He stated that it was through higher education that a nation could develop critical human resources to accelerate rapid economic growth.

Adding, the reward for higher education meant high paying jobs and greater careers that could positively impact one’s well-being and success in life.

“Therefore, enrolling in a tertiary institution is one of the best decisions you have made at a matriculation day,” he said, stressing the need for the country to encourage human resource development.

Rev. Dr Donkor said their journey also symbolised their “personal and intellectual transformation”, which they needed to reflect and capitalise on to build themselves for national development.

Rev. Dr Donkor said the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), indicated that only 20 per cent of Ghanaians had enrolled in tertiary institutions in 2022 and “this means you are one of the privileged few who could access tertiary education.”

The Vice President of ANU in charge of Academic and Student Affairs, Professor Carlene Kyeremeh, encouraged the students to maximise all the opportunities and challenges in the university to expand their horizon.

He said the university was committed to providing the necessary support to students and to help them realise their goals and aspirations
