New York Knicks forward Bojan Bogdanović is due to undergo surgeries on his foot and wrist that will rule him out for the remainder of the 2024 NBA playoffs, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported Bogdanović was dealing with ligament damage in his wrist but would potentially hold off surgery until the offseason.

The 35-year-old averaged 10.4 points on 43.0 shooting, including 37.0 percent on three-pointers, in his 29 regular season appearances with New York after arriving ahead of the trade deadline.

Prior to his injury in Game 4 against Philadelphia, his impact had been relatively muted in the first round. He had 13 points in a Game 1 victory but then shot 3-of-12 from the field for 11 points combined over the next two contests.

You’d trust the Knicks to get the job done in the opening round without Bogdanović. They own a 3-1 series lead on the Sixers, who have no answer for Jalen Brunson and are getting little from their supporting cast behind Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

Bogdanović’s absence could become a larger problem in the later rounds when added to the team’s other injury problems. Season-ending shoulder surgery knocked Julius Randle out of the lineup, while Brunson (right knee contusion) and Mitchell Robinson (left ankle) are both playing through minor issues.

Coaches always shrink their lineups in the playoffs as they lean more heavily on their best players. Only nine Knicks have seen the floor so far in the Sixers series.

But head coach Tom Thibodeau will have a hard time working around his increasingly threadbare frontcourt.
