If you thought the roast of Tom Brady would be mild and reserved, you thought wrong.

Seemingly nothing was off limits during The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which aired live on Netflix on Sunday. Whether it was the legendary quarterback’s former teammates in Randy Moss, Julian Edelman, Drew Bledsoe and Rob Gronkowski, his former coach in Bill Belichick, or a long list of comedians, the jokes were flying.

Kevin Hart hosted, but it was Belichick who helped kick off the show by telling Bledsoe that it was once again Brady’s time to shine.

There were jokes about Spygate, deflated footballs, trainer Alex Guerrero, Belichick’s job status, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, cryptocurrency, Brady losing to Eli Manning in the Super Bowl multiple times and much more.

One subject appeared to be off limits, however, as Brady took issue with a joke made by Jeff Ross:

Variety @VarietyTom Brady got up from his seat during his Netflix roast and said “don’t say that sh*t again” to Jeff Ross after the comedian asked Patriots owner Robert Kraft: “Would you like a massage?”

The reference was to Kraft’s previous controversy involving accusations of soliciting… pic.twitter.com/fSd53Nmxgi

And there was no shortage of reactions from those who watched:

Jimmy Traina @JimmyTrainaThe jokes are A+ all around, but it’s the Tom Brady reactions that make this entire roast perfect.

Field Yates @FieldYatesThis Tom Brady roast is absolutely outrageous 🤣🤣🤣

Alex Kirshner @alex_kirshnerThe key to a good roast is acquiring a subject who cannot be good natured about it and is clearly seething. Netflix knocked it out of the park

Mina Kimes @minakimesAt this roast and I can report that with every new Gisele joke Brady appears to be disassociating

Alyssa Rose @AlyssaRoseNikki Glaser might be better at roasting than Tom Brady is a football

Nicole Auerbach @NicoleAuerbachI did not expect to enjoy this roast this much.

Eric Lindquist @EricLindquistThe Roast of Tom Brady is one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed and will ever witness, goodness GRACIOUS that was epic.

Hart, Ross, Ben Affleck, Nikki Glaser, Will Ferrell, Sam Jay and other actors and comedians expectedly delivered one-liners about Brady and the other athletes. Ferrell even arrived as his famous character Ron Burgundy and told Belichick, “it was Tom, it was never you” when talking about the Patriots’ success.

But the athletes also drew plenty of laughs with Edelman and Gronkowski holding nothing back and Bledsoe telling Brady, “I’m really glad that you enjoyed all this amazing success with the team I built” while also telling Belichick, “at least when I got fired somebody else wanted me.”

Damon Amendolara @DamonAmendoThe biggest revelation from the Tom Brady roast is how absolutely incredible Drew Bledsoe is. He’s funnier and smoother up on that stage than half of Hollywood.

Then there was Moss, who didn’t ring a ring with the Patriots. His time in New England also came outside of the Spygate and deflated football controversies, which had him asking Brady, “why didn’t we cheat when I was there?”

Brady was the target of most of the roasts, but Gronkowski didn’t escape some of the jokes.

The most notable one came from Belichick himself, who played off his “do your job” slogan by telling Gronkowski, “stop doing your job” as a Fox studio analyst.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheetBill Belichick crushed it. That was fantastic. https://t.co/oBszxqdyXu

Field Yates @FieldYatesBill Belichick:

“It’s an honor to be at the roast of Tom Brady on Netflix tonight. It’s not to be confused with the 10-part Bill Belichick roast during the Apple TV documentary.”

😂

Bill Simmons @BillSimmonsBelichick!!!!!!!!

Mike Golic Jr @mikegolicjrbetween the draft and this roast I’ve seen Bill Belichick smile more in the last week than the prior 20 years.

Sophie Weller @sophieewellerrGetting Bill Belichick to do this roast is an all time move by Netflix

Belichick had the room cracking up but was also part of arguably the most notable moment of the evening when Hart convinced the legendary coach to take a shot with Kraft in an effort to quell any bad blood.

Netflix @netflixRobert Kraft cheersing Bill Belichick… never thought we’d see the day! #TomBradyRoast pic.twitter.com/X5D3nKOpCm

Chris Vannini @ChrisVanniniKevin Hart got Belichick and Kraft to do a shot together. That was awkward and hilarious. Public shaming on a live broadcast works.

Bill Simmons @BillSimmonsKevin Hart just got Belichick and Kraft to do a shot — I think I’m dead, there’s no way this happened.

That wasn’t the only surprise of the show, as Peyton Manning was the final roaster who landed a number of amusing jokes before introducing Brady as a three-time Super Bowl loser.

But it all built toward Brady’s rebuttal, and the greatest of all time once again delivered.

Whether it was him telling Roger Goodell the NFL should have just given him the $20 million it used to investigate the deflated football scandal or roasting all of his rival fanbases and Belichick, Brady seemed to be in his element:

Jemele Hill @jemelehillTom Brady is in his bag for this roast. “The NFL spent $20 million to prove I more probably than not deflated footballs. If you would have just given me the $20 million, I would have told you I did it.”

Bob Mahoney @bobmahoney866Is Tom Brady good at everything #RoastOfTomBrady

Dawn Marie @dawn0_0That was awesome. I’ll love you forever @TomBrady

LaKeena McGee @KeenaMcGeeOf course, Tom Brady would be good at this roasting thing. #roastoftombrady

Netflix @netflix”I know sometimes you live in Denver, and sometimes you live in Louisiana. But you will always live in my shadow.”

Tom Brady’s rebuttal has begun. #TomBradyRoast pic.twitter.com/Mp0mYZXdn3

It was quite the mic drop from Brady, who once again thrived under the spotlight.
