Tottenham v Burnley preview
Tottenham head into their penultimate home match of the Premier League season as odds on favourites for victories against a team who could be sentenced to relegation this weekend, if results don’t go their way.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are still hanging on by a thread to their Champions League aspirations, and realistically need to win each of their final three matches to have any chance of playing in Europe’s premier club competition next season.

The north London side head into the weekend fifth in the Premier League table, seven points behind Aston Villa in the fourth and final Champions League position, with the West Midlands side having played a game more.

Spurs have lost serious ground on the battle for the top four, a position which they held less than a month ago, but four defeats in their last four matches have seen their hopes start to dwindle.

A fifth placed finish would make progress for Spurs this season though, having missed out on European competition altogether last season after finishing eighth, their lowest finish in 14 years.

Burnley make the trip to the capital knowing that anything other than a win would confirm their relegation back to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.

Vincent Kompany’s side head into the weekend five points from safety with just two matches to play following their 4-1 defeat at home to Newcastle last weekend.

The Clarets had been beginning to finally show some form, which was put to an end after last week’s loss and it now seems like it was too little to late for the Lancashire side, who had lost just one of their last eight games before last weekend.

Even a win for Burnley on Saturday might spell the end of their time in the Premier League with a week to spare, if Nottingham Forest beat Chelsea in Saturday’s evening kick-off.

Tottenham have won each of their last three, and six of their last seven, against Burnley including twice already this season having won in the reverse league fixture and in the FA Cup.

Similarly, the Clarets have lost each of their last five away games against Spurs without scoring, also losing 11 of their last 12, going back 41 years since their last away win at the north London side.

📝 Tottenham v Burnley betting tips
Betfred’s pricing of 4/1 on the #PickYourPunt of Tottenham to win, Heung-Min Son to score and Josh Cullen to be carded looks a good price for a relatively safe-looking bet.

Tottenham head into this weekend’s bout as odds on favourites, while Son is the top goalscorer between both sides having scored his 17th goal of the campaign last weekend, with no one having received more yellows on either side this season than the Burnley midfielder.
