MZANSI citizens who applied for special votes headed to the polls as the election fever began to build on Monday, 27 May.

The elderly residents of Ward 53 in Soweto were paid home visits and offered the opportunity to practice their democratic rights by casting their vote.

Elderly residents in Protea Glen, Soweto said they have been voting since 1994 and nothing is happening regarding service delivery in their area. Some said they are struggling, and political leaders have done nothing to better their lives.
