It’s safe to say that Novak Djokovic dealt with some adversity on Saturday night.

The current world No. 1 saw his third round match against Lorenzo Musetti get delayed multiple times and the match lasted deep into Sunday morning in France. Additionally, Musetti took a victory in the second and third sets, meaning Djokovic would need to win two straight sets to stay alive.

Despite the upset seeming likely, Djokovic proved why it is silly to doubt him and came back to earn the 7-5, 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory.

Djokovic started well by earning the first competitive set, but Musetti’s consecutive victories changed the tempo and the Italian even took a multi-game lead in the fourth set.

Then, Djokovic turned it on.

The Tennis Podcast @TennisPodcastStunning fightback from Novak Djokovic to beat Lorenzo Musetti 7-5, 6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 in way over 4 hours.

It finished after 3 o’clock in the morning, the latest in #RolandGarros history.

Absolutely absurd.

The win ties Djokovic with Roger Federer for most Grand Slam match wins at 369. This record should seemingly get broken soon.

The lateness of the match could impact Djokovic going forward in this year’s French Open, although his dominant ending should strike fear in opponents.

Djokovic will face Francisco Cerundolo in the fourth round in a match that will take place Monday at 5 A.M. ET.
