Caitlin Clark’s remarkable long-range accuracy helped lift the Indiana Fever to a hard-fought 85-83 victory over the Washington Mystics on Friday night.

Although Clark struggled with her three-point consistency throughout the first 11 games of her WNBA career, that wasn’t the case against Washington. She finished with 30 points in 39 minutes of action, hitting a career-high seven triples which included several from far beyond the three-point line.

Her seven threes broke a franchise single-game record for rookies, as the previous mark of six was set by Hall of Fame forward Tamika Catchings in 2002 (per Across the Timeline).

Clark shot 53.3 percent from the field overall, adding eight rebounds and six assists. While she committed eight turnovers, she also held her own on the defensive end of the floor by racking up three of her four steals in the first half alone.

Although Indiana took a 31-19 lead near the start of the second quarter, Washington responded quickly and cut the deficit to just two points at halftime. The Mystics eventually took a lead of their own in the third quarter, but the Fever responded with a flurry of triples from Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

While Washington kept the contest a one-score game late in the fourth quarter, three clutch free throws from Clark helped seal the victory. Fans were amazed by her incredible shooting performance.
