Orlando Pirates forward Relebohile Mofokeng is facing competition from a Bayern Munich youngster, who is reportedly close to signing for Scottish giants Rangers, the same club that has shown strong interest in the teen’s services.
Rangers have emerged as strong suitors for the Pirates academy graduate in recent months, in spite of him having undergone trials at EPL side Wolverhampton Wanderers early in 2023/24.

Following his impressive debut season with the Soweto giants, Mofokeng has been linked with a move to Europe, with the Gers reportedly showing strong interest.
In an exclusive interview with this publication, The Rangers Review journalist Derek Clark revealed that the Scottish giants are close to signing Bayern youngster Yusuf Kabadayi, 20, who plays in a similar position as Mofokeng.
“Rangers are about to sign a boy from Bayern Munich, who plays in Mofokeng’s position, Yusuf Kabadayi. It remains to be seen if they’ll still try to get Mofokeng,” Clark told KickOff.
“Mofokeng is for the future, but I’m not entirely sure how much money Rangers have set aside to spend on him, I can’t imagine it being too much [left] as they’ve spent money elsewhere [on other new players].
“It all depends [on] if they make the [UEFA] Champions League or not, because they do have two qualifiers coming up. They have to get past those two matches and that would give the manager and the recruitment staff a lot more money to spend,” Clark added.
“But certainly, when they identify players, Relebohile is one of them, of course. They are bringing in guys at 19, 20. They are hoping to reduce the squad and hoping to sell them on after two or three years at a profit.

“So, Mofokeng would fit into that sort of bracket. It remains to be seen [if he will be signed], certainly the boy looks like an exciting player, someone I’m sure the Rangers fans would like to see at Ibrox, but whether it gets done or not, I’m sure we’ll find out in the next few days or weeks.”
Kabadayi, who spent the past campaign on loan at Schalke, has also been linked with St. Pauli and Lecce, but Rangers appear to be favourites for his signature.
