Lewis Hamilton Ruins Roscoe’s “Beauty Sleep” Amidst Father’s Day Bonding

Lewis Hamilton’s pet Roscoe made him believe in love at first sight. The British bulldog was one of over a thousand shelter bulldogs on a rescue website where the Mercedes star found him. All it took was one picture for Hamilton to exclaim, “That’s him!”. Since that day, not only the Brits but millions of people from across the globe have followed and loved Roscoe. Their relationship is profound, and the 7-time champion’s latest video featuring an annoyed Roscoe is too adorable.

In one of Mercedes’ YouTube videos earlier this year, Hamilton revealed his summer break plans with friends featuring Roscoe. His athlete self never turned off, as motorbiking through mountains and paintball midway made up most of his itinerary. Hilariously, he described how Roscoe loved being on quad bikes, albeit because of his inherent ‘laziness’.

Said laziness was on full display yesterday as Hamilton shared an Instagram story on Father’s Day. Roscoe was fast asleep in the video, snoring to the best of his abilities before the 7-time champion thought of mischief. He tingled his pet dog’s ear, only to witness the snoring turn into a disapproving grunt. “Beauty sleep” was his caption in the story. One that he ironically interrupted.

In an earlier post on Roscoe’s Instagram account, Hamilton shared how his pet isn’t a “morning person.” Well, Roscoe’s probably got a billion humans who join him in that category. Though his ‘hooman’ isn’t one of them, Hamilton loves it when his mornings are greeted by Roscoe’s playful barks.

Lewis Hamilton describes how Roscoe designs the “best part” of his dayRoscoe is a celebrity in his own right, like Lewis Hamilton’s other pet, Coco. Coco sadly passed away in 2020 from a heart attack with her family by her side. Though she left a big void in Hamilton’s heart, Roscoe’s loving presence never lets him down. Animals, especially dogs, have shaped how the Mercedes star feels about the world.

“The great thing about dogs… I mean, I don’t trust people that are not animal lovers, but they (dogs) are always happy to see you when you come back,” the Briton said in an episode of the ‘Hot Ones’. “It’s the best part of the day when you wake up and play with him, and then when you come back from work.”

This heartwarming relationship is one for the ages. Interestingly, the F1 movie featuring Brad Pitt and produced by Hamilton, which has recently announced its release date (June 25, 2025), features a Roscoe cameo. Now that would be a historic moment for the Hamilton family.
