Primary Wave, Be Forward Productions, and Storyvault Films announce a documentary film about the life and work of prolific lyricist Gerry Goffin, ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?’In a career spanning 60 years, Gerry Goffin wrote lyrics to over 114 Billboard Hot 100 hits, eight of which went to No. 1. The story of Goffin’s life and the songs he wrote reflect the times of his era and continue to resonate today. The upcoming feature documentary, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” provides a rare glimpse inside the artist and the man behind the words.

Produced by Primary Wave Music, Be Forward Productions, and Storyvault Films (“Teddy Pendergrass: If You Don’t Know Me,” “Gary Numan: Resurrection”) the film explores Goffin’s roots as a songwriter, his marriage and family life with Carole King, his professional highs and lows, and his ongoing battle with mental health issues. Despite Gerry’s personal challenges, his dedication to the art of songwriting and his commitment to social activism remained constant.

Throughout his career, Goffin wrote for dozens of celebrated artists, including Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole, James Taylor, Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Kylie Minogue, Amy Winehouse, and — of course — Carole King. In addition to his contribution to the success of numerous recording artists, his work continues to influence generations of lyricists.

“Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” tells his story for the first time through the eyes of close friends and family, including writing partner and former wife Carole King, daughters Louise and Sherry Goffin Kondor, his widow Michele Conaway Goffin, longtime manager Christine Russell, and notable collaborators and artists from his prolific career.

“So much has been made of my mom’s life story, but I find my father’s history equally fascinating,” said Sherry Goffin Kondor. “In spite of all the darkness that tormented him, he also had this beautiful inner light. I want people to see both.”

“I had the great fortune to work with Gerry for over 20 years,” added Christine Russell. “Riding the wave of his mental illness was often erratic, but one thing that remained constant was his passion for songwriting and his love of the music business. His life story is poignant and impactful and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share it with this documentary.”The 90-minute feature will be directed by Southan Morris, with Christine Russell, Sherry Kondor, Mara Burros Sandler, Sam Richards, Stuart Prebble, Larry Mestel, Robert Kraft, and Natalia Nastaskin as executive producers. The production will have unprecedented access to Goffin’s music catalog and archive, including never-before-seen or heard music and footage.
