Robert Pattinson Is Fully Unbothered By Suki Waterhouse Singing About Her Exes
Suki Waterhouse found a love worth singing about with Robert Pattinson.
In a new interview with British Vogue, published Tuesday, she described Pattinson as āquite an anxious person” in general, but there’s one area where he’s notably secure: Waterhouseās music, including songs about her exes.
Pattinson has āa lot of humor about that kind of stuff,ā she said. āHe couldnāt really give a shit. Heās like, āNo oneās better than me, so whatever.āā
She and Pattinson, who have been together for some six years, have āa love that is really pure,ā she said, but āI can get mad for my friendsā for songwriting inspiration.
And Pattinson doesnāt have a free pass forever, just because of that pure love, sparkly as a vampireās skin in the sunlight. āRob can still get a shitty song. You can find things to be pissed about,ā she said. For one, she notes that āheās always got very strong opinions,ā like saying she āshould do an EDM track.ā
Today, she and Pattinson, both Brits by birth, currently live in Los Angeles with their three-month-old daughter, but they first met during a gathering where guests were playing the party game Werewolf with some notable names.
āIt was very, very intense. There were lots of ābigā characters, real heavy hitters,ā she said. āAl Pacino was there. Javier [Bardem] and PenĆ©lope [Cruz] were thereā¦ and, you know, everyone was really acting.ā
They bonded over their āsame slight uncomfortable-nessā and through the night āstarted giggling at the absurdity of the whole thingā to the point where they āgot told off. There was a director that separated us because we were laughing too much.ā
She eventually realized that āI light up when Iām aroundā Pattinson, and that living in LA ādefinitely became a lot more fun when I met him.ā A move back to the U.K., however, is āat the forefront of our minds,ā she said.
Waterhouse welcomed the couple’s daughter two days after she finished recording her album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, which will be released in September. Motherhood, she said, has enabled her to blow off others’ opinions. āYou just have to go, āThis is what weāre doing, this is what weāre about and fuck what anyone else thinks.āā
As for Pattinson, Waterhouse credited both him and a stacked rap playlist for helping her through the birth process. āHe was there with me and like all dads, he was really nervous, but for someone whoās quite an anxious person, heās been very calm,ā she said, calling him āthe dad I could have hoped for.ā
