The future of USA Basketball appears to be very bright.

The U.S. cruised to a staggering 141-45 Round of 16 victory at the U17 Basketball World Cup on Wednesday. The Americans dished out 49 assists in the game, which breaks the record for most assists in a tournament game. This is the third consecutive game in which the U.S. broke the assist record.

The team’s 141 points is the second most in a tournament game of all time. The record for most ever was also set by this squad, as it had scored 146 points against China in its prior game of the tournament.

The Americans were led in scoring by five-star recruit Koa Peet, who had 22 points. However, another notable performance came from 2025 No. 2 overall player Cameron Boozer, who had 20 points and four rebounds.

His brother Cayden, who is the No. 20 player in the 2025 class per 247 Sports, contributed 12 points, nine assists and four rebounds. The twins are notably the sons of 13-year NBA veteran Carlos Boozer, and hold offers from schools like Duke, Miami and Florida.

While the U.S. are surely happy with the huge victory, the work isn’t done. It’s quarterfinal matchup against Canada is set for Friday at 8 A.M. ET.
