‘Cadres ready to serve as polling agents in Election 2024’

The Upper East chapter of the United Front of Cadres (UCF) says its members are willing to volunteer as polling station agents for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

This decision according to the UCF reflected their strong dedication to ensuring the protection of every vote cast at polling centres on election day.

The cadre movement emphasised that they had learned from the challenges faced during the 2020 elections, which they believed were marred by electoral fraud.

This announcement was made in a press release sent to the Ghanaian Times in Bolgatanga, following the commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the June 4 Uprising in Duusi, a community in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.

The pro-NDC group emphasised the importance of the upcoming elections, warning the NDC to be cautious of potential betrayals.

They stressed the need for dedicated, loyal, and vigilant members to be stationed at polling stations during voting.

The movement also called on the security forces to take responsibility for the unfortunate incidents that occurred during the 2020 elections and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Mr Daniel Adoliba, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the UCF, expressed concern over the perceived decline in values, discipline, and integrity within national security institutions.

He highlighted the need for justice to be served for the victims of violence during the previous election.

Mr Adoliba urged the NDC leadership to recognise the importance of cadres within the party, citing their role in mobilising support for the NDC in past elections.

He emphasised that upholding values such as probity and accountability was crucial for maintaining party unity.

The UCF called on voters to reject the “non-performing” NPP and support the NDC in the upcoming elections.
