Jeff Goldblum Sends a Message to ‘Jurassic World 4’ Star Scarlett Johansson: ‘Don’t Get Eaten’

The actor delivered a cheeky video message to Johansson, who is set to star in the next Jurassic World installment

Dr. Ian Malcolm has officially welcomed Scarlett Johansson into the Jurassic World family.

On Monday, Jeff Goldblum, who played the groovy chaos theorist in Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 Jurassic Park film (and reprised his role in three sequels), had a special surprise for Scarlett Johansson during a live interview on Today. Johansson, who was promoting her rom-com Fly Me to the Moon with Channing Tatum on the morning show, is set to star in the upcoming Jurassic World movie.

“Dr. Johansson, this is Jeff Goldblum,” announced Goldblum, while sporting a dinosaur-branded knit in the recorded message. “Here’s what I want to say to you,” he continued, before referencing the iconic “life finds a way” line from the franchise’s first film. “This I know: Scarlett will find a way. Don’t get eaten, unless you want to.”

Goldblum signed off with, “I love you,” and blew his Asteroid City co-star a kiss.

Johansson is set to feature in fourth installment of Jurassic World. The untitled movie will be directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, who penned the original blockbuster Jurassic Park with Michael Crichton, and also wrote the screenplay for The Lost World in 1997.

Last month, Johansson told ComicBook.com that she has been “an enormous Jurassic Park fan,” adding, “It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in theaters. I remember it so vividly. It was life-changing and mind blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”

“I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘I’ll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I’ll do the craft service!’ I’ll do anything for it. The fact that it’s happened in this way at this time just is actually unbelievable.”
