Man United to complete signing in coming days
England face The Netherlands in the semi-finals of the European Championships on Wednesday.Â
Gareth Southgate’s side have been criticised for their performances so far in Germany, and they had to rely on a penalty shoot-out victory over Switzerland in the last round to reach the final four.
Wednesday’s tie will be the third major tournament semi-final that Southgate has guided the Three Lions to, but Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands side will undoubtedly provide a stern test for England on Wednesday.
In the meantime, it appears that one member of Koeman’s squad is closing in on a move to Manchester United.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are expected to complete the signing of Joshua Zirkzee in the coming days.
Zirkzee is in line to join Man United this summer
Zirkzee, 23, impressed for Italian side Bologna last term, scoring 12 goals in 37 games across all competitions as they finished fifth in Serie A.
Romano claims that United are set to complete the signing of the Dutchman in the coming days, with no issues expected.
Zirkzee – who made his first appearance of Euro 2024 as a late substitute against Turkey in the quarter-final – is set to join United and sign a contract until the summer of 2029.
United have already agreed personal terms with the forward, and the Manchester club will now work to finalise the terms of the deal with Bologna.
It is suggested that the Red Devils could either pay the player’s release clause, or alternatively agree a different structure.
In total, Zirkzee has scored 14 goals in 58 games for Bologna across all competitions.
