Caitlin Clark made another strong case to be the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year on Friday as the Indiana Fever beat the Phoenix Mercury 95-86.
Clark had 20 points, 13 assists, six boards, a pair of blocks and a steal. She also made history, becoming the first rookie to record 400 points, 150 assists and 100 rebounds in a seasonβa feat that becomes more impressive when considering the Fever still have 16 games left to play this year.

It’s safe to say Clark is creating a wide gap in the Rookie of the Year race, and she can continue doing so with a strong finish to the season.
After the win, WNBA fans hyped Clark’s chances to win Rookie of the Year.
LR Sports @LRTalksSportsCaitlin Clark is closer to 2nd in the MVP race than 2nd in the ROY race
Jacob Roggero @JacobRoggeroI don’t know how you can watch Caitlin Clark and not come away thinking she’s the obvious ROY. She’s a special player. If the Nuggets had a PG like her they’d win like 3 titles in a row. Her passing is so on point.
Josh Wiesel @Jwiesel13Another 10+ assist game for Caitlin Clark
Best vision in the league and best guard by a wide margin
Sets her teammates up perfectly to succeed and the defense is just frozen when she’s rolling
ROY (obviously) but she’s also a top 5 MVP candidate
Special special player
Adam @NotAdam123The ROY trophy better already have Caitlin Clark’s name on it. #WNBA

Edrice FC @dpoybam13I recognize Angel Reese’s talent, but Caitlin Clark is on her own level, the ROY race shouldn’t be close
Clark is having one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory, averaging 16.7 points, 7.6 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game. Performances like Friday’s will only help her numbers get better as the season continues.
With the win, the Fever improved to 10-14 on the year and passed the Chicago Sky to take the No. 7 spot in the WNBA standings. Indiana had a rough 1-8 start to the year but has started to turn things around, and a win over a strong Phoenix team should only help the Fever’s confidence moving forward.
