Singer Mathapelo Kanyane, better known as Black Cat Girl, finds dignity in music.

WHEN she started stripping, she did it to pull crowds and get gigs.

And for years, she wanted to stop but thought she’d go broke.

Now, she has stopped and is a new brand.

Former stripper and musician Mathapelo Kanyane, better known as Black Cat Girl, said she no longer does mapona content.

The 32-year-old Tshwane-based told Daily Sun that being with dancer and musician Tsekeleke has saved her from the stripping world.

She’s known for dating dancer and social media sensation Skomota and for her sultry moves and nude photos.

Black Cat Girl said that stripping was never her passion, and she always wanted a way out.

“When I started doing it, I did it to get attention from people because my music wasn’t doing well. When I got the attention, I felt like I needed to continue with it.”

She said that when she started dating Tsekeleke, things changed for her.

“We are followed by many kids, and I can’t continue sharing nudes while I have an audience of kids. I needed to change my ways.”

Black Cat Girl thought she’d lose gigs when she changed her brand.

“I didn’t lose any gigs. I get more gigs now, and I can see that the bums aren’t working. It’s just the talent.

“I’m grateful, and at the same time, I thank Tsekeleke for being in my life because I didn’t know how I was going to come out from that life without affecting my life. I have my dignity back now,” she said.

Black Cat Girl said Tsekeleke and Dr Malinga have been giving her support.

“It feels good, and even my dignity is coming back.”
