This then exhausts their foreign quota with five players.
The five that can be registered as foreigners are Thatayaone Ditlhokwe (Botswana), Edson Castillo (Colombia), Christian Saile Basomboli (DR Congo), Edmilson Dove (Mozambique) and Ntwari.
However, in the case of Ditlhokwe, he will become eligible for permanent residence with effect from January, by which time he will have spent five years in South Africa.
Amakhosi will have that in mind with regards to their planning for the January transfer window, which will allow them to reshuffle their foreign quota again.
Dove has an interesting case about him.
The Mozambican has cut short his pre-season in Turkey due to an injury issue.
How long he will stay out is unknown and the worst-case scenario will have him not registered for the start of the new season, thus temporarily keeping a foreign spot open.
Dove had initially been out of his way at Chiefs after the expiry of his contract at the end of June but was then recalled from the national team with the option on his contract then exercised.

He spent almost five years at Cape Town City, before briefly going home to UD Songo, upon which he was snapped by the Soweto giants two years ago.
The dreadlocked man is eligible to make an application for permanent residence, which will be another option for Chiefs to open another foreign space.
