Sean Kingston & His Mother Caught Up In Wire Fraud Charges
The 61-year-old mom and her 34-year-old son racked up five counts of wire fraud. They also got an additional count for conspiracy to commit fraud. According to the Associated Press, a Miami grand jury returned the indictment earlier this month. The pair appeared in court for the first time on Friday (July 19).
Kingston and Turner allegedly lived up to the rumored 305 scammerâs reputation. Officials claim they concocted a plan to steal jewelry, luxury whips, and other expensive goods from several businesses.
Prosecutors are hoping to prove that Sean and Janice would acquire luxury items under the false impression that they sent the money via wire transfer. Eventually, the businesses discovered the payments were allegedly unsuccessful. Additionally, they did not return items following lack of payment. With this pricey alleged scheme, the family members copped more than $1 million in property.
For example, Sean Kingston and Janice Turner allegedly skirted off in a $160,000 Cadillac Escalade. Additionally, they nabbed over $480,000 worth of jewelry. Meanwhile, the car dealer and jeweler were left with their palms facing the sky. Moreover, prosecutors say the pair defrauded banksâ$100,000 from First Republic Bank and over $200,000 from Bank of America.A bedmaker is also reportedly owed $86,000 for customized services. All of this is said to have gone down between October and March.

If convicted on all six counts each, Sean and Janice could face up to 20 years behind bars in the Sunshine State. Kingstonâs lawyer, Robert Rosenblatt, reportedly left AP on read but previously told the outlet theyâre âconfidentâ the case will reach âa successful resolution.â
