Reddick won both on and off-trackTrendingIn 2019, Tyler Reddick was competing for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. And his run was stellar – he clinched six trophies, 24 top-fives and 27 top-tens. And the current JGR driver could effectively use his racing success off-track as well. That year, Reddick and Alexa were expecting the birth of their first child. They locked horns over one pressing issue – what to name their child. Alexa wanted to go for ‘Ryker’, but Reddick did not like it.

Then DeLeon offered Reddick a deal: “Listen, you win this championship, you can name him whatever you want, but I don’t want you calling him anything until you are in victory lane holding up that championship trophy in Miami.” And that provided Reddick with a powerful motivation to defend his 2018 Xfinity title.

Reddick recalled this year how that deal with DeLeon convinced him to clinch the championship trophy. “There was no way I’m gonna lose this championship. And that’s what put me over the edge.”
