Taylor Swift Fans Think She Turned the Olympics Into a Major Reputation Easter Egg

From Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour costumes to her recent piano malfunction, Swifties have been spotting Reputation (Taylor’s Version) easter eggs everywhere latelyā€”and now they think they’ve found a big one in Paris. On July 28, NBC released an ad for their primetime coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics featuring a recording of Swift’s popular Reputation track “ā€¦Ready For It?”

ā€œAre you ready for it? Baby, let the games begin. Let the games begin. Let the games begin,ā€ Swift sings over inspirational footage from past competitions, this year’s opening ceremony, and quotes from some of Team USA. Simone Biles closed out the ad, asking viewers, ā€œAre you guys ready for it?ā€

Swift also shared the video on her own Instagram Story, writing, ā€œSo ready to scream at my tv cheering for these athletes šŸ…ā€

Considering Swift recently cleared the track for Biles to use during her floor routine, this might not seem like a big deal to the casual viewer. However, the specific version of the song has sparked a major debate among Swifties.

You see, instead of using Reputation from the 2017 album, NBC was given a live recording from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. While some fans predict Swift is planning to release an entire Eras Tour album, others are sure this was another clue that the highly-anticipated Reputation re-recording is on its way.

ā€œThe real swifties know why this song was chosen šŸ˜‰,ā€ one fan commented on NBC’s TikTok, while another wrote, ā€œIT HAS TO BE REP TV.ā€

Meanwhile, other fans believe we all missed an easter egg leading up to this easter egg. One TikTok user shared a photo of Travis Kelce wearing his Team USA Olympics hat to an Eras Tour concert in London, setting their post to Swift’s ā€œExileā€ lyrics, ā€œI gave so many signs.ā€

ā€œNow the hat makes sense,ā€ one user wrote in the comments. ā€œI couldnā€™t figure out why heā€™d be wearing thatā€¦seemed like an old dad hat like his attire for his new beer commercial!ā€

Of course, not everyone is convinced. One user replied, ā€œWhy would this be a sign of anything other than him cheering on team USA?ā€ Because it’s more fun this way, Ashley!
