Not his best game, but he showed why Bayern spent big for him. Doue replaces him.

But Restes gathered the ball comfortably.

Yow and Booth come on for Parades and Aaronsen – both of whom have performed well today.

The new Bayern Munich man scores the kind of goal he has put away for Palace over the last couple of years. Taking the ball just outside the penalty area he turned on his left foot and curled an effort just inside the corner of the USA net. It took a slight deflection but it didn’t seem to change the flight too much.

Another ball from the right this time reaches the back of the six-yard box where Tolkin heads against the foot of the post.

Aaronsen snuck in to meet Paredes’ cross from the right flank with a header but Restes pushed clear.

The former Arsenal striker was given space 25 yards from goal and he launches a low strike which beat Schulte and snuck inside the bottom right corner.

Mihailovic launches an incredible rocket from 25 yards which clips the bar with the French keeper only able to stand and watch.
54′ Mateta gets free on the left flank
But his low cross only finds Harriel who clears away.
50′ Good header from Zimmerman
He diverts Truffert’s cross to safety with Mateta waiting to pounce behind him.
47′ Harriel meets Mihailovic’s free kick
But the ball was slightly behind him and he couldn’t get much power on the ball, so Restes comfortably saved.

Kone drove towards the edge of the area and fired a shot, which looked on target, but struck the back of Olise.

Early matches can be tepid affairs but with the drama elsewhere we all hoped for more than this.

On first looks, it looked a definite yellow card but replays show it was more a slip from the French right back and not too much contact on the American left-sided defender.
