Kevin Durant Labelled as “Thinnest Skinned Superstar” by Popular Host Over Online Outburst About Warriors Dynasty
Just when you thought there wouldn’t be any drama during the 2024 Paris Olympics involving Team USA and the heroes representing the country, Kevin Durant proved you wrong. And how? The Slim Reaper ripped into former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson after the latter poked the same old Warriors wound of KD. But what exactly happened there? To put it simply, Keyshawn dealt in the realms of hypotheticals a bit too much for Durant’s liking.
Following a standout performance in his returning game against Serbia, Durant took to social media to address the NFL star’s comments about him being replaced by Paul Pierce in the Warriors legacy team. On top of it, Keyshawn claimed that it would’ve made no difference, undermining KD’s impact. And that’s how it all boiled over after Durant hit back. But that wasn’t the end of it.
During the latest episode of Undisputed, Skip Bayless came to his co-host’s rescue and initiated another war of words. The veteran analyst not only questioned KD’s dignity but also his character. “I’m gonna say it again about Kevin. He is the thinnest-skinned superstar in the history of sports because he has had burner accounts. And he continues to stoop to go completely beneath his all-time great dignity and engage with nobodies on Twitter. Go back and forth. That he was doing it yesterday. Back and forth with nobody. That’s wrong. That’s wrong. Kevin, you’re Kevin bleeping Durant. What are you doing?“, Bayless said about KD’s online spat.

Bayless urged KD to do better than just get involved with online hecklers. This came after KD involved himself in a social media argument over his Warriors legacy. The major feeling about Durant joining the Dubs was that GSW could’ve won without KD, but not the other way around. But KD always felt otherwise. He felt so differently that KD believes he should be in the GOAT debate, Warriors legacy included or not.

Kevin Durant believes joining Warriors should not undermine his GOAT debate standingThe GOAT debate of this generation has been dominated by LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and to some extent Steph Curry. “You talk about these two (LeBron and Kobe) and you battling who’s the best and Kevin Durant is going to sneak through the backdoor,” Michael Jordan once said about the aforementioned debate. But many have swept KD under the rug due to his Warriors stint where his only two NBA championships came in a generational team. This shouldn’t take anything away from KD as he was the Finals MVP on both occasions and he certainly believes so.
During a recent interview with The Republic, Durant made himself crystal clear about his standing in the GOAT debate. “Because I went to the Warriors. Why shouldn’t I be in that? That’s the question you should ask. Why not? What haven’t I done?”, Durant raised the question during the interview. He was the face of the OKC Thunder in the early 2010s. After he joined the Warriors in 2016, they literally became unbeatable. And that’s where the problem began. To solidify himself in the GOAT debate, Durant has to win with the Suns, after failing with the Nets. Will he ever be able to shake that chip off his shoulder? Only time will tell.
