From Megan Thee Stallion to the Obamas, 19 Celebrities Who Have Endorsed Kamala Harris for President

Since President Joe Biden ended his 2024 campaign and Vice President Kamala Harris started hers just over a week ago, many prominent voices in American culture have seemed to rally around Harris as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee—making her (and her as-yet-unnamed VP pick’s) possible path to the White House feel a little smoother. (The $200 million her campaign has raised in that time hasn’t hurt, either.) Even stars who haven’t formally endorsed Harris for president seem to be going out of their way to help her campaign, as Beyoncé did when she gave Harris permission to use her song “Freedom” on the trail.

Below, find a guide to the celebrities who have publicly shown their support for a Harris ticket so far.

Megan Thee Stallion and QuavoOn July 30, the two stars joined Vice President Harris for a rally at the Georgia State Convocation Center in Atlanta. While Megan performed a 10-minute set before announcing, “I’m so happy to be here, Atlanta. We about to make history with the first female president—the first Black female president. Let’s get this done, Hotties. Hotties for Harris,” Quavo—who had hosted a summit against gun violence attended by the vice president in June— took the stage to help introduce Harris herself. “This city has always been home to me…so one of these issues that I care about is resolving [gun violence],” he said. “You can’t understand the struggles of gun violence if you’re not in the field or the heart of it. One thing I learned about Vice President Harris is she always stands on business… So if you’ve never voted before, make sure you get out and vote right now, because this is the real one.”

Barack and Michelle ObamaFormer president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama called nominee Harris personally to share their support. The warm conversation—filled with mutual respect and excitement for the future—was shared via Harris’s YouTube channel. “We called to say Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” the former president said. Michelle Obama then went on to add: “I am proud of you. This is going to be historic.”

Charli XCXThe British pop star tweeted what appeared to be an endorsement of Harris for president on July 21, leading many to wonder whether the power of brat summer could be harnessed for political gain.

Jamie Lee Curtis“I support wholeheartedly @joebiden and his decision to step down and to endorse unreservedly @kamalaharris. SHE IS TRUSTED AND TESTED and she is a fierce advocate for women’s rights and people of color and her message is one of HOPE and UNITY for America [at a] time of great national divide,” Curtis wrote in an endorsement posted to X on July 21.

Spike Lee“ONCE AGAIN A SISTA COMES TO DA RESCUE,” the director wrote on Instagram on July 21.

Rosie O’DonnellO’Donnell showed her support for Harris across several posts on Instagram, among them a shot of the vice president’s recent Time magazine cover and a meme that read “Childless Cat Ladies for HARRIS 2024.”

Shonda Rhimes“I stood behind her in 2016 when she ran for Senate, I was behind her when she ran as @vp and I continue to stand behind her today,” the Grey’s Anatomy and Bridgerton creator wrote on Instagram on July 21.

Aaron SorkinHours after publishing a guest essay in The New York Times suggesting that the Democratic Party tap Mitt Romney as their candidate, Sorkin used Josh Malina’s X account to release a statement in support of the vice president: “I take it all back. Harris for America!”

Wanda SykesThe comedian kept her support for Harris simple, captioning a portrait of the vice president, “Let’s go!!!” on Instagram on July 21.

Kerry Washington“In the name of democracy, @JoeBiden did a brave and bold thing. I’m tremendously grateful for his years of service – and I am awed by his selfless leadership,” Washington wrote on X on July 21, shortly after President Biden announced the end of his campaign. “Make no mistake. Our fight now remains EXACTLY the same. We must do everything we can to prevent another Trump presidency and an authoritarian government. @KamalaHarris can and will win this! I believe in her and I believe in us. Let’s gooooooooooooo!”

Ariana GrandeYet another pop star for Harris as president! After President Biden shared his endorsement of Harris on social media, Grande reposted the message to her own Instagram Stories.

Barbra Streisand“President Biden and Vice President Harris ushered this nation out of the Trump chaos,” Streisand told The New York Times on July 22. “She will work to restore women’s reproductive freedom and continue with the accomplishments begun in the Biden-Harris administration.”

George Clooney“President Biden has shown what true leadership is,” Clooney said in a statement on July 23. “He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest.”

Olivia RodrigoThe 21-year-old singer shared a TikTok of Harris speaking about reproductive rights to her Instagram Stories on July 23, adding in a few celebratory hands-raised emojis for effect.

Sheryl Lee RalphEveryone’s favorite Abbott Elementary star has come out loud and proud for Harris, writing on X on July 24: “It’s a wonderful Wendesday and we all feel it! Register to VOTE for President Harris.”

Busy PhilippsOn July 24, the actor took to Instagram to promote Answer the Call, a campaign “to organize, galvanize and mobilize white women to show up with their human, social and financial capital in the name of electing VP Kamala Harris America’s next – and first woman – president.”

George TakeiThe Star Trek actor has long been a champion of LGBTQ+ rights and increased inclusion for marginalized groups, and he’s clearly fired up about a potential Harris presidency. “I’m OUT for Kamala Harris and you should be, too!” he tweeted on July 24.
