Paris Olympics 2024 Day 15 Live Updates: The final Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling on the Vinesh Phogat silver medal appeal has been deferred to August 13, 9:30pm IST. The Indian athlete was disqualified hours before her final bout in the women’s freestyle 50kg for missing the weight limit by 100g. Not only this, Vinesh was stripped of the silver medal she was assured of. Whether the Indian athlete will be given a silver medal or not will be decided by the CAS by August 13, Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Indian wrestler Reetika Hooda lost to top seed Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan in quarterfinals of Women’s 76kg event at Paris Olympics. (India’s Day 15 Schedule | Medals Tally)

The ad-hoc division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will take some more time to deliberate on Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal against her disqualification from the women’s 50kg free-style final of the Olympic Games and will announce its decision only on August 13. However, in a chaotic turn of events, the Indian Olympic Association first stated that the verdict will be out on Sunday before issuing a clarification to say that the outcome will be known only on August 13.
